Well we’ve been back at the farmhouse and Morgan has been climbing the cliff across the road with her cousin. (Do you see those two dots up there? That’s Morgan and Madison.) She does this just to make me crazy. When she isn’t climbing the cliff, she’s trying to find the new kittens in the barn. The mama cat has hidden them good.
The farmhouse is sporting a new red tin roof! I can’t wait to hear what it sounds like when it rains.
And GUESS WHAT? Ding dong, the rooster is gone. What do you think happened to him?
1) In a fit of violence at 4 am, I wrung its neck and buried it behind the barn.
2) It died a natural death and made good eating.
3) It went to happier pastures at the neighbor’s farm.
What do you think? Don’t forget, I HATED THAT ROOSTER!!!!
From those who guess correctly, I’ll have my daughter choose a winner to receive their autographed pick from my contemporary backlist!

Glad to see that you escaped to the country! Hope you can fit in some writing time!
Let’s see… I can’t see you wringing the rooster’s neck with the children present! Soooo it’s a toss up,:wave: but, I’ll go with… #2) It luckily died a natural death and you enjoyed eating him!!
10:23
am
I’m going to go with #2 also! Nice red roof.

I just don’t think old roosters make good eatin’! And I don’t see you committing such an unspeakable act of violence against an innocent fowl.
I’m going to go with #3.
We had a cat that did that once…talk about your ungrateful felines!
10:41
am
I’ll go with number 3 — because no matter how much you hated that rooster, if the kids were around, I don’t think you’d have the heart to wring it’s neck. If it died of (hopefully) natural causes, I’m not certain you’d just serve it to the kids because of possible infection. So, it’s got to be #3. Hopefully the neighbor appreciates it.
Now, if you were there by yourself, I think I might definitely go for #1 — though you might have celebrated with a fine roast chicken dinner accompanied by a nice merlot.

I’ll go with #2 - It died a natural death and made good eating.
12:48
pm
I’m thinking number two, as well.
12:52

#3-went to neighbor’s farm
12:53
pm
I guess #3.
12:59
pm
I say number 3.
I plucked one of those long blue/black feathers out of a roster’s backside once.

pm
3) It went to happier pastures at the neighbor’s farm.
I don’t really think you would kill it or eat it!
1:38
pm
#1 and #2 is so not you. Has to be #3. Now me, wouldn’t have had a rooster to begin with. They have a mean streak. Love the farmhouse.
2:32
pm
I am going to have to go with #3. Perhaps he went next door with a little help, you know, you picked him up and threw him unceremoniously over the fence.
C:wave: bye bye birdy
2:43
pm
I am guessing #3…I am thinking you may have decided to give him away. I can’t see you killing it with your kids around or eating it if it died of natural causes. I could be wrong but I am still gonna guess:
#3 It went to happier pastures at the neighbor’s farm.
3:01
pm
I’m guessing #3, as well.
Love the new tin roof!

pm
I’m guessing : 2) It died a natural death and made good eating.
Have fun!

I think he’s at the neighbors farm. You wouldn’t want to eat a rooster because their meat is tough. I suppose he could’ve dropped dead or drowned in the rain because he didn’t close his mouth.:rotfl:
4:02
pm
I say #3 because I can’t imagine eating a rooster.
4:08
pm
I would say #3- but you dreamed about number 1, didn’t ya? LOL
4:56
pm
I’m going with number 3 for the same reasons as listed above. Love the new red roof!
5:09
pm
I have to go with #3. I’m sure you would have enjoyed #1 but you’d have to lie to your kids lol and I don’t think it’s safe to eat anything that has just died cause goodness knows of what.
I think that roof is really going to be noisy
5:30
pm
I’m picking #3.
Love the red roof, though guessing it might get pretty loud when it rains.
5:43
pm
Wish I could sleep under a tin roof no matter what color. There’s nothing like it. I remember from whrn I was little(age not size).
6:28
pm
Gonna have to go with #3 also.
And I think the new roof looks great!
7:20
pm
I’m thinking #3 and those metal roofs are great when it rains—You’ll love it on the porch:yes:
7:51
pm
I pick #3!
9:19
pm
I say #3. Great new roof.
9:21
pm
I am pretty sure it’s # 3….no matter how much you “hated” it I can’t see you killing it or even eating it if it died naturally
10:54
pm
I can’t picture you killing a rooster or plucking it to cook it. I’m guessing you gave him to the neighbor. Now, let’s hope he doesn’t have a homing instinct like a dog and come back.
1:02
am
I’m going to go with #3.
1:33
am
Well, I’m sure you dreamt about #1, and while #3 is the most humane, I don’t think it would give you as much joy as knowing someone crunched on its bones. I vote #2
4:02
am
Killing something with one’s bare hands is very hard. I can see you using a gun, knife, etc., but no neck wringing.
And it’s a fact that rooster meat is tough and unappetizing.
So it’d be #3.
But I really just wanted to tell you you’ll love the tin roof! When the rain is soft, & you’re drowsy…ahhhhh…
4:36
am
Since I can’t see you “actually” killing it, and who’d want to eat something so old it died of natural causes, not to mention who knows how long it had been dead before you found it, I’m going with #3, that it found happier pastures elsewhere.
I bet the rain sounds nice on that roof…
7:32
am
The farmhouse looks great.
I’m going to have to go with #3. You might be many things, but a murderer you aren’t
And I can’t imagine eating a rooster who died of old age. So, #3.

#4 You needed a diet coke fix and ran over him on your way to the Aunt Bea’s General Store
